A positive review of care planning and care record processes left staff pleased with their decision to upgrade the homes care management system.
CQC Inspection Results
The inspection by the Care Quality Commission took place just before Christmas with the results being published early January 2017.
Inspectors noted “care records were personalised.”
They also noted that the care management system facilitated the recording of care in “real time giving a more accurate care record.”
Ratings have moved from ’Requires Improvement’ to ’Good’.
The new system allowed staff to demonstrate aspects of their processes had improved significantly, with more thorough documentation.
The Management Team Response
Adam Knights is the Owner and Managing Director of Knights Care. He was also one of the key staff involved in implementing the new system.
“Having a system [AutumnCare] that supports effective documentation and record keeping has helped us to improve our rating from the CQC,” he stated in response to the recent inspection results.
The CQC reported that “care records were personalised and included detail. As a result staff could understand what was important to people, such as information about people’s past life experiences and their preferences.”
The Staff Response
Management staff now have better oversight of operations.

“We now have the ability to monitor resident records and ongoing care activities from anywhere. It’s really helped us make improvements to our existing care planning processes,” said Adam Knights.
The CQC commented that “staff we spoke with told us they liked the new system. It was less time consuming giving them more time to spend with people”.
Adam is thrilled with the quick adoption of AutumnCare amongst staff.
